Updated walkthrough for apple IIGS Version of 
Transylvania III: Vanquish The Night

This is a difficult game because you need the manual; hence some of
the commands may seem meaningless. 

When you get the messages about needing rest, find a place to sleep.
These include the maze and museum, and the gypsy queen's tent. There
may be more places. In the dream Sabrina the vampire bites you and you
are told you have limited time to solve the quest (two more bites). 

At the Plains of Darkness, WAIT four times until you are facing Death.
TALK DEATH. You find yourself on a mountain top with a goat. EXAMINE
GOAT, GET HOBBLE (which releases the goat and gets you to the well. E,
S, APPROACH INN and note the last three words you hear. ENTER INN, SAY
"at zije slavaria". The mob quietens. TOUCH BLADE. You meet Vlasta and
Erik. When she asks you to join them SAY "YES". You are told there
will be three tasks to accomplish. The first is to find the gold in
the Egyptian museum. LEAVE, N,E, N, EXAMINE GHOST, FOLLOW GHOST. You
find yourself in a maze with a skeleton. GET SKELETON, W, GO IN
FISSURE (you overhear a conversation), EXAMINE GREEK, EXAMINE GATE,
SAY "HERCULES" (the gate opens), N, READ SCROLL (you get a hint about
a dog), GET VASE, DROP HOBBLE, GET SCROLL, GET MOTHS,  W (you see a
mummy), DROP MOTHS, EXAMINE HIEROGLYPHS, SAY "SHADOW", DROP VASE, GET
GOLD, E, S, E, U, DIG, BURY SKELETON. You bury the skeleton and see a
rose. GET ROSE, D, W , N, GET FLUTE,  S, E, U,S, PLAY FLUTE, RIDE ELK.
You find yourself on a cliff by a cave. ENTER CAVE, SAY "FURY",
EXAMINE FURY, TALK TO FURY. You are told he will help you when the
time is right. W, RIDE ELK, S, ENTER INN. You deliver the gold and are
given another task - to get the gypsy prophecy. LEAVE, N, E, N, E, N,
GIVE ROSE TO MONSTER. You find yourself in the study. TAKE STAKE,
DRINK YELLOW, S, S, W, N, GO TENT, TALK TO QUEEN. You are told to
return her crystal ball before she will give you the prophecy. LEAVE,
LEAVE, E, N, D,W,N, REST, DROP FLUTE,DROP STAKE, GET ROMULUS, GET
REMUS,S,E ,U ,W PUT ROMULUS IN BUCKET, LOWER BUCKET, SAY "ROMULUS". A
sea serpent will appear. SAY "SUCHO", GET BALL, GET CROWN, GET
ROMULUS, SWIM. You find yourself at the mere. W, N, GO TENT, GIVE BALL
TO QUEEN. You hear the prophecy, LEAVE,  S, ENTER INN. You are given
the third task - to free the sorcerer. LEAVE, DROP CROWN, N, E ,N,
D,W,N, GET HOBBLE, GET STAKE,W, LOOK INSIDE VASE, GET TEETH, E,
S,E,U,W,W,N,N. You are thrown into the dungeon where you see a dog.
PET DOG, CATCH DOG WITH HOBBLE, THROW ROMULUS THROUGH BARS, SAY
"ROMULUS". You find yourself on a staircase. DROP REMUS, E, E. Leave
the coffin for now. OPEN DRAPES, W, S, S, E, E, N, GIVE PURPLE TO DOG
who turns into the sorcerer. S, S, S, S, GET CROWN, EXAMINE CROWN,
ENTER INN. The battle begins. GIVE CROWN TO DOBRODEJ. The battle
continues. PLANT TEETH. Warriors arise but the battle continues. CALL
FURY. You find yourself in the castle and notice the vampire returning
to the coffin. E, OPEN COFFIN, KILL VAMPIRE WITH STAKE. You get the
epilogue and the game ends.

Updated to work with the Apple ][GS version of Transylvania III by
Gordon Van Der Zee. 

The original walkthrough did not work correctly on the Apple ][GS
Version, the main difference being the amount of items you can carry
at once. 

It is possible to complete the game with only having rested once.
