J, There are four switches, from left to right, switch 1 enables DMA when down, disables DMA when up. If you have more than 4MB RAM in the expansion slot of a IIgs you will have to have switch 1 up. The other three switches set the SCSI ID of the card. All down is zero and all up is 7. It is a binary representation so up down up would be 5, down up down would be 2, down up up would be 3 and so on. An ID setting of 2, I believe, institutes a delay to let devices come on line.
