As part of any newbie training course, I would recommend that you obtain the following items: 1 - Get a complete unabridged version of the Apple II FAQ from satan (ahem..) I mean, Nathan Mates. Read this over and over again. Read it until you can recite every word and phrase in detail. Then read it again. Then start emailing your congressperson to ratify the teaching of the Apple II FAQ in all public schools. According to natan, this should be required reading ... And we DONT want to disagree with nathan, now do we. 2 - Get a copy of FlameStation v4.0 from some FTP site somewhere. This will greatly assist you in dealing with the inferior and sometimes annoying newbies that come along and ask beginner questions like "Where can I get a copy of ProDos." "Does anyone still sell appleworks?" "How does the bible fit into the apple II community paradigm?" After all, reading the Apple II FAQ by Nathan Mates would answer all of these questions. You read it, why should this person get off so easy! In the event that someone asks: "Where can I get a copy of the Apple II FAQ?" The proper procedure in this case would be to 1 - Flame the newbie for being ignorant. 2 - If the newbie is anything other than a christian, flame him/her again. 3 - Flame your congressperson for not making the Apple II FAQ required reading in schools. That will correct most problems. In addition, as a newbie, you should open up an account with ShareWare Solutions II. They are a small-time apple II software dealer run off of someone's personal checking account. The owners name is Joe Kohn. Send him all of your money IMMEDIATELY. If you dont, you are singlehandedly responsible for the fall of the Apple II. But most of all, the golden rule(s) are: 1 - Nathan Mates is right. He has god on his side. God and nathan are good friends. Nathan will have god smite you if you cross him. Get rid of your Saint Francis, Anthony, Peter picture in your wallet. Nathan is closer to god than any of them. 2 - Charles Turley is a drug crazed psychotic idiot. He wants to molest your children. He should be avoided at all costs. If Charles says anything intelligent, it is propably the effect of all the drugs he takes to control his psychological condition. 3 - Dont think. Just refer to the Apple II FAQ whenever you have a crisis. smentzer@pacbell.net
