Enable Appletalk on the GS and use the Netprinter control panel to choose the appletalk printer. The Laserwriter driver is the appropriate driver, although when using a non-Apple printer, the Laserwriter driver from Sys6.0 is better than the one from Sys6.0.1. P8 applications also print to the LaserwriterIINT using the IWEM imagewriter emulator (downloaded to the printer from the netprinter control panel). But I am not sure of how well this works with non-apple printers. I think it works with a HP Laserjet with a postscript cartridge. I use phonenet connectors for my localtalk cabling. Since I use a Rom1 GS I have slot 7 set to 'Appletalk' and because the phonenet connector is plugged into my 'printer' port, I have slot 1 set to 'My card'. A Rom3 GS can set slot 1 directly to 'Appletalk'. I am not sure this answers the original question, which supertimer and Jeff were trying to answer. But I wanted to clarify Jeff's response so that it would not be mis-interpreted to mean Apple II GS couldn't print postscript or on appletalk networked printers. The IIGS prints very well over an Appletalk network. --Steve -- --Steve (apple2pd@ground.ecn.uiowa.edu)
