WHY I'M HARD TO REACH!   TEMPORARILY WORKING
 ON COLLEGE TEXTBOOK SUPPLEMENT

Dear A2 Readers,


Since late September, I've been working overtime on a college textbook
supplement that has consumed 110% of all my spare time!  This has meant
that I've stopped reading e-mail (a huge time-consuming activity).  But 
my e-mail suspension (and Apple II hardware activities) will be finished
by about December 20th.

This overtime job is a "test bank" for a college textbook in Child
Psychology.  It will be about 450 pages of multiple-choice questions for
faculty who adopt the book for their classes.  Writing these questions is
easily but painstaking, because the details are important.  It is paid
work, of course, but there are penalties for lateness.  I am now about 75%
finished with it, and working all the time to get it done.

I should have anticipated that it would take longer than the three weeks
the editor estimated!  I did a similar larger project in 1995 (631 pages
for McGraw-Hill), and the 1995 project took five months!

The upshot of this is, please be patient for about another four weeks!  I
have about a dozen transactions to fulfill, and they all will be, but I
need to get this writing project out of the way first.
