Then it's a matter of holding down the key long enough to produce a result. It's generally easier to just use a joystick (well, except when you've got a laptop or something that can't use a joystick) or try using the mouse emulation of the joystick as that works better than the keyboard emulation generally. click on the "help" button for some (not much) more info on this.
