AMPERDOS is a BASIC environment designed to replace BASIC.SYSTEM. It requires a
128k enhanced IIe, //c, //c+ or IIgs with an 80 column card. Amperdos stores
variables in aux memory giving the programmer access to 60k for variable space
and up to 39k for program code. It also allows easy chaining of multiple
programs and more. Has a patched version of the program editor from Beagle Bros
as well as a patched version of Extra Variables built into the main system
program. Original release 1999

There was a mis-statement in the Amperdos ver 1.00 documentation regarding
ExtraK and/or Program Writer. They were released as copyrighted freeware by the
current copyright holder. These programs were incorporated in Amperdos to
enhance programming on the Apple II Ê Amperdos upgraded to ver 1.01. Now
reinstalls /RAM on exit. Sorry I missed that one people. Now performs a simple
check for a 128k system. Still no cpu check though, since most 128k systems
should have a 65c02 or better. Now uses the standard Prodos name buffer at
startup for program launchers. Thanks to Ludowick for reminding me to make this
upgrade.

It has been tested on several platforms. Kegs/Linux, Apple Oasis, ApplePC in IIe
mode and my Apple //c. ApplePC does not work in //c mode as this mode has some
bugs and doesn't identify properly. I think it fails on the new 128k check, but
I suggest using ApplePc in IIe mode most of the time anyway. I have seen this
bug on other software too.
