You seem to be saying that the Disk ][ is not compatible, even with an adaptor. With a properly wired adaptor, the Disk ][ is compatible with the IIgs smartport. There does not appear to be any way for any Apple II or compatible disk port to discriminate a Disk ][ (connected with an adaptor plug/cable) from a Platinum 5.25 drive. Rubywand
