Vandry Feel free to send me feedback on this game at the InterNet address Vandry@Cam.Org ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Copied from the board game "Stock Ticker" THE GAME The object of this game is to buy and sell shares in order to make the most money possible. Prices fluctuate and dividends are paid. Each player has a turn. Duting a player's turn, he or she may: o Buy stock, or o Sell stock One can do as much as desired on a single turn. Simply signal when the turn should end after all desired transactions have been carried out. After each player has had a turn, events occur. An event is either a price change in one of the six shares, or a dividend payment for one of the six shares. The number of events that occur is equal to the number of players in the game. Play then returns to the buying and selling stage. The game has no predefined "end." STARTING A NEW GAME o Choose (B)egin new game from the main menu by pressing B. o Type in the desired amount of players from 2 to 8. o Enter the names of each player, one after the other, as prompted. o Proceed to PLAYING LOADING A GAME FROM DISK o Choose (L)oad game in progress from the main menu by pressing L. o Type in the full or partial pathname (or filename) of the game to load. o Proceed to PLAYING PLAYING The first stage of the game (and the third, and the fifth,...) is when each player gets to buy or sell shares at will. You can always tell whose turn it is by looking at whose name is in inverse video at the top of the screen. During a turn, these options are available to each players: o (B)uy. To buy shares. Specify what kind (by number) and how many. Confirm purchase transaction by pressing B, or cancel with C. o (S)ell. To sell shares. Specify what kind (by number) ans how many. Confirm sales transaction by presing S, or cancel with C. o (U)ndo. To nullify the last (B)uy or (S)ell on this turn. Confirm with Y, or cancel with N. o (E)nd turn. To signal the end of desired transactions and to go on to the next player's turn or to the next stage of the game. Note: After your very first turn, you must one at least one share. o (Q)uit/save. To return to the main menu where options are available for quitting the game, saving the game, starting a new game, ... NB: If you would like to check the total value of all players' stock, use the main menu's (E)valuate option. You can then continue the game, quit the game, save it or start a new one. After all players have ended their turn, stage 2 begins. As previously outlined, events which can either be price fluctuations or dividend payments occur. Changes will be reflected on the screen. Follow the prompts. They are informational. STOCKS OFF THE MARKET When a stock drops so low that it has no value, all of that particular stock held by the players is removed, and the same stock is put back on the market at par value of $1.00. STOCKS SPLIT When a stock reaches or goes over $2.00 a split is declared, and all players holding that particualr stock recieve another share for each one held, and the value of that stock goes back to par value of $1.00.
