** NOTE ** 1990 This NDA is presented to you freely, you may do whatever you wish with its src codes. It shows how to NOT code an NDA. :) Some of the code is reallll crappy, unoptomized, and just jury-rigged to work. Make sure you plan out the ENTIRE NDA before beginning to write it, or you'll haveta cobble things together like I did. The windows & junk were put together by designmaster. Not the prettiest output code I guess. I forgot to keep the binary data file, sorry. I believe thats about it. Parik Rao ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 9, March,1993 SynthLAB 3D Player/Recorder NDA v1.3 Shrinkit Archive: SL3DPR.SHK Freeware Copyright © 1993 by C. F. Joux Many thanks to Parik Rao for allowing me to do whatever I wished with it. So, what I did was disassemble this cool NDA SynthLAB Player and full function MIDI Recorder, to recover the missing binary data file. I then put it all back together again tightly compiled and assembled using Merlin Pro, renamed it 'SL 3D PR NDA', adding a few enhancements, additions and updates along the way like; compliance with GS/OS and then increased the maximum Velocity Compensation to 127, set the Tempo to a default value of 60, Volume default value to 99, (all user adjustable with the mouse when MIDI input is active). I also implemented a rather unique 3D self adjusting pan stereo effect to the player and recorder modes. This results in giving any MIDI input score and composition or SynthLAB song loaded and then saved subtle, floating sound scapes in three dimensional shifts from left <-> right, forward <-> rear and bottom <-> top. This NDA can play a SynthLAB song with more clarity and accuracy than any other SynthLAB song player I've ever used, including the actual SynthLAB program. The Shrinkit archive SL3DPR.SHK contains the NDA. I've included an exampled MIDI score to SynthLAB sequence, Bohemian Rapsody by Queen, with its combined bnk and wav files to show the degree of pan stereo effects with floating sound scapes and three dimensional shifts presented when played with the SynthLAB 3D Player. Plus, the song lyrics are included as a text file. A IIGS stereo output card connected to a good quality stereo amplifier system with SRS or Dolby Surround Sound for listening to the sequence with a high quality headphone set is suggested to obtain the desired audio special effect results.
