At present the Apple II University in the A2Pro forum on the Delphi online service, is coming up on lesson nine of Learn to Program in GSoft BASIC. The course is actually a book published by the Byte Works that is a self-paced way to learn how to program using GSoft BASIC, another Byte Works product. We have a weekly chat that is hosted by the creator of GSoft, Mike Westerfield, to discuss any questions that people might have about programming in GSoft. These chats take place Monday nights between 9 and 11 pm eastern. The A2Pro URL below has a link to the A2Pro forum's chat rooms. GSoft BASIC is the best BASIC programming language available for the IIgs, in my opinion. It is a commercial product but there is a free version available for download that allows you to try it out. And if we're really lucky, we'll also get the Toolbox Programming in GSoft BASIC course in the not too distant future. This course will teach you how to write IIgs desktop applications and such using GSoft BASIC. The Byte Works also has the largest collection of programming related software and books for the Apple II that I am aware of.
