The TRS 80 version including drivers for LS-DOS 6.x are available at http://www.qsl.net/zl1wjq/trside1.htm. I have an Apple II version working but as Michael Black says the important stuff is drivers. This requires that I burn a ROM with the appropriate code so that ProDOS recognises this as a block device. A separate driver would be required for DOS 3.3 but that is later on the todo list. The details for the Apple II driver (excluding ROM) will be at http://www.qsl.net/zl1wjq/ap2ide1.htm by the end of the weekend Michael Black says that " Undoubtedly, the first problem of an "IDE controller" for an old computer is that most people won't want to build their own." This is quite true and I am encouraging people interested in either the TRS-80 or Apple II interfaces to drop me an email directly. If I can get approx 15 boards requested for each type then it is worth getting the first batch of boards done because the cost setup cost will be well allocated. The components add a few extra dollars and it would be possible to have the board available as either a kit of built up but it should still be a reasonable price given that I am not out to make a profit... (although cost recovery would be good).... just the fun and the learning. Andrew Quinn Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.
