Soon after those first shipments, Micron began diversifying. The first new
product, a camera, the MicronEye, was designed to let personal computers "see"
using an image-sensing unit called an OpticRAM developed from Micron's standard
DRAM. Similar products under development at that time cost about 10 times that
of Micron's camera and image sensor.
