Try using the Shrink II (Mac Unshrinkit - shrinkit) application on your PB 180.
 It works fine for my needs on the IIgs using 3.5 disks in the PB 180 disk
drive.  Give it a try with unshrinking the archives directly to your 3.5 disks
with the program 'Shrink II' which I'm sending you by email attachment in
Stuffit archive file format in another email soon.
