We built perhaps 200 Apple I's, sold perhaps 175. The purchaser had to connect two transformers, a keyboard, and a TV. Back then you had to buy an expensive monitor, connect into the guts of your TV since TV's didn't have composite video inputs, or build a modulator (we didn't supply one, but when the Apple II came out another company provided the SuperMod because as a former Ham Radio Operator I wouldn't allow Apple to build a modulator). The Apple I is very rare indeed. ------ From: Charles Turley, Mon, Apr 29, 1996 ------ Good Morning Steve, I need your help and skillful evaluation on some Apple 1 color gif files! Please take the time to visit the following URL http://www.wco.com/~3d5d1wsw/gsezine/GS.WorldView/*APPLE.HISTORY/ Could you please review the seven color gif files and reply by email, if they are (in your view) pictures of an authentic Apple 1. I really would be grateful if you could varify for me that these gifs appear to be of a real Apple 1 Computer. This computer is being offered to me for $50k, and I need your review of it's being an authentic Apple 1 - before I proceed with the deal. Also, if it is authentic, should it have a Serial Number somewhere on it? I will be looking forward to your reply and should they prove (by your review of them) to be authentic - please feel free to download and use them on your own web site, if you wish to. _______________________ Steve Wozniak 475 Alberto Way #104 Los Gatos, CA 95032 _______________________ 408-354-5000 voice 408-358-5858 FAX _______________________ www.woz.org _______________________
