ACERAS ANTROPOPHORUM
E: Man Orchid
F: Orchis homme-pendu
G: Ohnhorn

This is an orchid of the extreme hot, dry meadows with lime soil. As a submediterranean plant, it survives the winter with green leaves, blooms in the early summer and retracts the leaves in the hot summer months.

The blossoms of Aceras are orange and look like a small human with arms, legs and a helmet.

Aceras is a flower which can be kept in garden culture with moderate difficulties. It can be placed in the full sunlight in a limestone bed with a good water drain.
