This orchis is a relative to Dactylorhiza majalis. It can be found in the British isles and south Scandinavia.

It has magnificient purple blossoms and no or only a few small dots on the leaves. It grows on similar places like D. majalis and occasionally you can find bastards with other species.

The culture of this orchid can be considered easy. It likes a moist bed and can be treated like Dactylorhiza majalis.
