LIPARIS LOESELII
E: Bog Twayblade
F: Liparis de Loesel
G: Glanzkraut

A rare orchid of very wet places. It can be found in swamps and bogs where the Sphagnum moss grows. It likes lime but also seems to tolerate slightly acidic soil.

Like Malaxis and Hammarbya, this species has pseudobulbs and green blossoms which are not too attractive.

Nevertheless, it can be cultivated in a moist Sphagnum bed.

This is the only european Liparis species. In Japan and North America grows Liparis lilifolia with more impressive, red blossoms. It can be cultivated like L. loeselii.
