HAMMARBYA PALUDOSA
E: Bog Orchid
F: Malaxis des tourbieres
G: Weichwurz

In the wettest Sphagnum swamps, this tiny orchid grows often together with carnivourous Drosera plants.

This extremely acidic environment is unusual for an orchid. Hammarbya has pseudobulbs, one above the next. This is a good adaption to keep pace with the ever growing Sphagnum moss.

The seeds of this orchid can swim and are spreaded by the water.

Nothing is known about the garden culture. The small size and green colors make this little orchid not too attractive.
